Tiny Little Houses
From the most extreme conditions,come the most colorful, rich and interesting cultres.

This series of watercolor paintings was started in 2012, and continues. When I first moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, there were new requriements to elevate houses to avoid future floods. The most common way to do that was to place houses in the air on stilts. I thought a lot about houses on stilts, and as I sketched the little houses high up in the air, I developed a little story of a little community along a coast.
