Cottonmouth Snake Block Print

from $40.00

The cottonmouth, or water moccasin, is one of the few venomous snakes native to south Mississippi. With its Zorro-like mask and Hershey Kiss-patterned markings, it’s both feared and misunderstood. These snakes are often the subject of southern folklore, but the truth is—they’re not out to get you. They are beautiful, vital parts of the ecosystem, just living their lives.

I carved this linocut to honor the cottonmouth’s striking form and ecological importance. It’s a reminder that even misunderstood creatures deserve appreciation and respect.

Each print is hand-pulled using oil-based ink and a linoleum block I carved myself. Due to the handmade nature of this process, every print has unique variations. You will receive one from this limited edition, made using the same block, ink, and recycled French Paper Company paper.

Details:

  • Image size: 8" x 10"

  • Paper size: 9" x 12"

  • Paper: Recycled paper from French Paper Company

  • Ink: Oil-based black ink

  • Edition: Signed and numbered, limited to 150 prints

  • Frame: Optional black plastic frame (9x12), ready to hang

This piece is perfect for wildlife lovers, southern naturalists, snake enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates the beauty of misunderstood animals.
